Trinity Community Hospital conducted a focused community health needs assessment centering on cancer, orthopedic and cardiovascular services. The information was obtained through a multitude of sources including: epidemiological surveys, focus groups, interviews with healthcare professionals and healthcare facilities’ planning guidelines.
Risk Factors
Oncology Services The needs assessment revealed that 15% of the population will be older than age 65 within the next 5 years. 50% of men and 33% of women are expected to develop cancer during their lifetime. New cases of cancer are expected to grow by 34% in the next 5 years.
Current physician practices that serve oncology patients are at their full capacity. Additional facilities and equipment are needed to be able to provide the care that is needed. There is poor coordination of care between the different disciplines that provide care to these patients. There are delays in scheduling care for oncology patients. There are no established programs focused on cancer prevention and control. Educational programs on the risk factors for cancer are limited.

Orthopedic Services The needs assessment reveals that there will be anticipated growth in orthopedics. Orthopedic cases are expected to increase by 46%. Inpatient volume is expected to increase by 30% and outpatient procedures by 350%. The community needs additional physicians in order to accommodate this growth. There will need additional imaging equipment, operating rooms and rehab facilities. There needs to be better coordination of care to ensure timeliness of scheduling. Educational programs need to be implemented on accident prevention and promoting health lifestyles.
Cardiovascular Services Over the next 5 years, there will be an increased need for cardiovascular services.…...

Ethics Training Strategies - Task2 Part2 Hr - Rdjt

...Ethics Report – task2 Human Resources RJDT Strategies for ethics training on the job should be applied to all levels from temporary workers to upper management. There must be no basis for resentment among employees because of a real or perceived double standard of morality. The company itself must also model these standards to the public. Consistency builds credibility, a contrast to competitors and non-competing companies alike, who may not be as accountable to outsiders. “This stage involves the use of managerial, communication, administrative, and persuasive abilities to ensure the choice is carried out. The success of a decision is based on how it is implemented.” (Becker 2011) b.1 Strategies Mentoring will help employees learn better ways of applying the code of ethics and understanding ways it can help them be more successful on the job. Modeling is a natural extension of mentoring, since the company sees all employees as co-workers, and peer pressure is a useful tool for reinforcing positive behaviors. Forthrightness helps build trust. Accountability is an asset to relationships, and a good role model for employees following the code of ethics. Shifts power to the employee to determine how to apply the ethical standard and be responsible for the result. This is one factor in raising job satisfaction and performance, making employees see that every person’s actions count. When one employee sees another engage in ethical, code-conscious activity, there is......

Egt1-Task2

...EGT 1 Task 2 A. Define the following three terms: 1. Elasticity of demand The responsiveness or sensitivity of consumers to changes in pricing of products is measured with elasticity of demand. The more reactive consumers are to a price change, the more elastic or simply elastic a product is considered. The less reactive consumers are the less elastic or inelastic the product is (McConnnell,Brue 2011). 2. Cross-price elasticity (include substitutes and complements) The change in demand in one product caused by a price change in another good is called cross price elasticity. The change in the price of one product or goods that causes a change in the demand for another product is measured on the x axis of the demand curve with the cross price elasticity (McConnnell,Brue 2011). Goods can be complimentary; such as a dvd movie (complementary good) that must be viewed with a dvd player (base good) or substitute; such as one brand of soup for another. When goods are complementary that means they work together, so the relationship in their use reflects in the elasticity of price in relation to each other by moving in opposite directions. When goods work in conjunction with each other, cross price elasticity is negative- meaning an increase in the price of one product causes the demand for the other to decrease and a decrease in the price of one causes demand for the other to increase. For example if the price of dvd players decreases the demand increases and the price...

...ENTERPRISE CONTINUITY PLANNING Responding to Attacks and Special Circumstances Continued Assessments During a Disaster By Charles Paddock FXT2 – Task 2 November 5th, 2012 A. Perform a post event evaluation of how the organization’s IT staff responded to the attack described in the scenario by doing the following: 1. Describe the nature of the incident. The nature of the incident was that an internal employee successfully hacked into the human resources, payroll and electronic mail systems. The employee was then able to manipulate payroll data, intercept emails and impersonate staff through electronic means. There were a number of techniques used in this attack such as network eavesdropping, IP spoofing, social engineering, man in the middle, and escalation of access privileges. All of these types of attacks are consistent with an experienced hacker who knew what he was after. The incident was only discover because of an auditor reviewing the records and noticed the changes. When the auditor notified management of the discrepancies via email his emails were intercepted and the hacker negotiated higher access privileges by posing as management and IT Staff. 2. ...Supply and Demand The laws of supply and demand will be used to show relationships between supply and demand in given situations. A discussion will be given on elasticity of demand, cross price elasticity, and income elasticity. Followed by an example to discuss why demand tends to be relatively elastic where available substitutes exist. Then the “Proportion of Income Devoted to a Good” concept will be discussed by contrasting two products purchased. It will be addressed how the same percentage change in price affects the percentage change in the quantity demanded. Next, the “Consumer’s Time Horizon” concept will be utilized in contrasting a person’s response to large price increase in the short run and the long run. The graphs will be used to identify price range areas on the demand curve where demand is elastic, inelastic, and unit. Finally, the corresponding impact on total revenue for each of the three price ranges will be explained. Elasticity of demand shows responsiveness of change in price for quantity demanded. Elasticity of demand can be characterized as elastic, unitary or inelastic. Elasticity of demand is said to be elastic when change in quantity demanded do to price change is large. Conversely, when the rate of quantity demanded is small compared to price change it is termed inelastic. Refer to elasticity of demand as unitary when price change and quantity demanded move at an equal rate. The two will move together at a ratio of one. Cross......

...What is budget variance analysis? What is a flexible budget? A variance (difference between actual and forecast figures) is a signal to management that revenues or spending did not go according to plan. If the variance represents overspending, moreover, it is an indicator that there may be problems paying future expenses. Variance analysis attempts to find the reasons that actual figures were over or under forecast so that either  Corrective action can be taken to reduce variances in the future, (an exercise in static budgeting) or  Figures for future spending can be adjusted as necessary (the practice of flexible budgeting). Confusion sometimes arises in variance analysis because two different conventions for calculations commonly used.  Convention 1: Incoming revenue variance = Actual – Forecast Expense spending variance = Actual – Forecast This convention is used in this encyclopedia and in many organizations. Under this approach, a positive variance always means the actual result was greater than the budgeted amount.  Convention 2: Some organizations (such as the Project Management Institute), however, recommend using the above convention for revenue, but reversing the order for expense items: Incoming revenue variance = Actual – Forecast Expense spending variance = Forecast – Actual Under this convention, positive variances are always "good things" (more revenue or less spending than expected), and negative variances are always "bad things...

Trinity hospital must open up the options to thinking of the advantages and disadvantages of buying, building or leasing a property around the current area or to the current facility. Every option comes with their advantages and disadvantages when dealing with the financials, possible upcoming development, desired space, and compatible with current standing orthopedic services centers. The option of building the Physical Therapy center should be examined first. Recently the CFO of Trinity Hospital sent an email stating that the construction cost would be $120 per square foot for the 5,000 square feet needed for the center. In total this amount is estimated to the cost of 600,000 in order to build on the property. ...Introduction: As an information security professional, you are responsible for ensuring preventive information security controls are in place. Such controls include implementing organizational and security policies, processes, and other forms of preventive security measures. Scenario: During a routine audit of an electronic health record (EHR) system, a major healthcare provider discovered three undocumented accounts that appear to have access to the entire clinical and financial health record within the system. Further investigation revealed that these accounts were accessing records around the clock via remote access to the healthcare system’s network. Three remote access accounts appear to have been set up at least six months prior to the creation date of the first account in the EHR. Additionally, the accounts in the EHR were originally established as standard user accounts approximately two months ago and escalated to full access over the course of two weeks. System controls are verified to be in effect that limit access for each account to no more than 300 records per day. Over the course of the past two months it is estimated that more than 37,000 but no more than 50,000 records could have been accessed. Reports are being run to determine which patient accounts were accessed, but the reports will take more than two weeks to identify the record identification numbers and then take longer than 60 days to compile the usernames and addresses. An audit of other systems......

...Community Health Needs Assessment Trinity Community Hospital AMT Task 2 Community Health Needs Assessment Trinity Community Hospital conducted a community health needs assessment (CHNA) to identify the needs of the local population. The assessment focused on oncology, orthopedic, and cardiovascular services. The following report will analyze the community health needs assessment by identifying the major risk factors in the community, and discussing if the needs defined in the evaluation are being addressed. The report will also outline recommendations for any outstanding community needs. Major Risk Factors Oncology Services The community health needs assessment identified that new cancer cases are expected to increase by 34% due to the aging population that will be over 65 within the next five years and a rise in expectation of men and women developing cancer. The assessment also identified that the current services are already stressed.; physician practices are at capacity, facilities and equipment are not keeping pace with the patient volume, services are fragmented, and there is little emphasis on prevention education and control. Orthopedic Services Another risk factor for the community is the sharp increase in the need for orthopedic services forecasted over the next five years. The need for orthopedic procedures in the next five years are expected to increase by 46%, inpatient joint and spine cases will increase by 30%, and outpatient spine and......
