The Verizon Company is a Wireless mobile communicator in the United States that provides wireless voice call services, messaging and data products and services to mobile operators. Charles R. Verizon Wireless was founded in 1995 and is headquartered in Bedminster, New Jersey While Verizon is truly a 21st century company, when Verizon merge with bell Atlantic the mergers that formed Verizon were many years in the making, involving companies with roots that can be traced to the beginnings of the telephone business in the late 1990’s. The people that mergers formed Verizon were among the largest in U.S. business history, culminating in a definitive merger agreement, dated July 27, 1998, between Bell Atlantic, based in New York City, and GTE, which was in the process of moving its headquarters from Stamford, Conn., to Irving, Texas audited by Ernst & Young LLP, independent registered public accounting firm. Ernst & Young LLP has also provided an attestation report on the company’s internal control over financial reporting. Verizon is listed 0n NASDAQ. ...full line of shoe care products such as shoe shine kits and polish, brushes and accessories, suede and leather cleaner, and mink oil conditioners. Sole proprietorship is the legal form of business chosen for Trina’s’ Shoe & Boot Repair for Women. Katrina’s rationale for choosing sole proprietorship was she wanted a one-person business that she would have total control of without registering, and also be able to operate under her own name. After deciding which type of business she wanted to start, Katrina had to ask herself the following questions: ‘How many shoe shops were located in the neighborhood?”, “Were the local shoe shops profitable,” and “Were the local residents satisfied with the current shoe shops?” After conducting her research and having her questions answered she found that there was a substantial need for a new shoe shop to serve the McCormick Woods area. Conclusion-From previous paper Entrepreneurs have made a major impact in this country as well as around the world. Some were very successful like Walt and Roy Disney, founders of Walt Disney, and others were not as lucky. But they all had one thing in common, choosing a legal form of business. Internet conclusion? The legal form of business ownership you choose will affect everything from the administrative costs of setting up and operating your business, through your tax planning. It's a decision you need to make even before you choose a name for your business. However, bear in mind that......

...use of smart phones within the target market to 76%. Additionally not every shopper needs a smart phone to use The DesignerFinder because often people shop in groups with their family or friends and only one person would need to have a smart phone for the rest of their party to be able to use the application. The typical TJX shopper is conscious of current fashion trends and designers, but also aware of their budget and not looking to spend a great deal of money to look good. The DesignerFinder appeals to the needs of the middle to upper-middle-class, aged 13-45, typically female shopper. In their current advertisements they focus only the female shopper, who is shopping for herself as well as her husband and family. According to our research we approximate that of the total number of shoppers at TJX stores 45% will use The DesignerFinder. We came to this conclusion by taking many factors into account: the first being that The DesignerFinder simply might not be effective during a quick shopping trip. Some customers, specifically men, are simply looking for a high quality product and may not care about its designer label to use the application. Another small percentage of non-users will be customers who do not own smart phones and do not shop with anyone who does. However, part of the appeal of The DesignerFinder is getting a shopping advantage that other customers do not have. Therefore in order for it to keep that same sense of being an 'inside scoop' we wouldn't want......

...UNIVERSITY FOR DEVELOPMENT STUDIES,GHANA CENTER FOR CONTINUING EDUCATION AND INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH (CCEIR), NAVRONGO A PROPOSAL BY MUMUNI ELIASU For A MASTER OF ART DEGREE IN ENVIRONMENTAL SECURITY AND LIVELIHOOD CHANGE INTRODUCTION 1.2 Background Since the beginning of civilization of mankind, man found the use of minerals as indispensable material in sustaining life with the “lion cave” being the oldest known mine from Swaziland which proved to be about 43,000 years old. Hungary and the Ancient Egypt also mined flint and malachite respectively for weaponry tools and ornaments. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mining) Mining generally is the extraction of valuable mineral deposits or other geological materials from the ground or earth. These deposits could be gold, bauxite, manganese, precious metals, diamond, oil, coal, limestone and many others. Any material that cannot be grown through agricultural processes created artificially in a laboratory or factory is normally mined. Mining normally involves prospecting for the mineral and final exploration if found, in the form of surface (strip) or underground mining. Surface mining is when the soil and rocks overlying the mineral deposits are removed. It is used when deposits of commercially useful minerals or rocks are found near the surface; that is, where the overburden(surface material covering the valuable deposit) is relatively thin or the material of interest is structurally......

...Project Management IB3820 Regency Plaza Case Study (HBS) University ID 9817773 Role of Project Manager The role of a project manager can be described as “[to] take responsibility for planning, implementing and completing the project…” (Meredith & Mantel, 2000: 85) and is entirely dependent on the project identity, requirements and deliverables. The Regency Plaza case is no exception. Due to the nature of the project there is a large amount of sales and marketing involved, as well as the traditional project management skills such as managing design and construction as well as maintenance of cost, time and quality levels. Managing Design The Regency Plaza project involves both condominium and hotel sub-contracts[1]. Hodgkins was hired to manage the condominium project and so was hired after the conceptual design of the building was completed. This means that the scope of the design component of the project was limited by the design of each of the floor plates with which she was provided. The Regency Hotel Group (RHG) provided Hodgkins with strict targets that had to be achieved if the project were to be successful. A specialist in Condominium design and marketing, Russel Farley, was a member......

...How To Formulate Research Problem? Posted in Research Methodology | Email This Post Email This Post Formulating the research problem and hypothesis acts as a major step or phase in the research methodology. In research, the foremost step that comes into play is that of defining the research problem and it becomes almost a necessity to have the basic knowledge and understanding of most of its elements as this would help a lot in making a correct decision. The research problem can be said to be complete only if it is able to specify about the unit of analysis, time and space boundaries, features that are under study, specific environmental conditions that are present in addition to prerequisite of the research process. Research Process Research process is very commonly referred to as the planning process. One important point to be kept in mind here is to understand that the main aim of the research process is that of improving the knowledge of the human beings. The research process consists of the following stages – 1. The Primary stage :– This stage includes – a. Observation – The first step in the research process is that of the observation, research work starts with the observation which can be either unaided visual observation or guided and controlled observation. It can be said that an observation leads to research, the results obtained from research result in final observations which can play a crucial part in carrying out further research. Deliberate and guided...

...Strategies for Communication and Collaboration GEN/200 Lisa Tabarez Strategies Communication has existed since man set foot on this planet. Before there was language, people communicated by signs, sounds, and symbols. People need to communicate for survival purposes, such as trading, protection, and bonding. Communication has changed as the world evolves and technology changes. Nowadays it is essential to be able to communicate at home, school, and work. Strategies for communication and collaboration are important because they will help understand each other’s learning styles and personality types to work effectively as a team. It takes time to communicate as a team because every member has a different learning style. There are different learning styles, and one of the most common styles is kinesthetic. Kinesthetic learners learn the material by doing a physical activity, rather than listening or watching a presentation. During a presentation, the speaker might want to give the kinesthetic learner an activity involving their hands. A kinesthetic learner might be able to collaborate by building constructive activities, such as posters, sculptures, and boards. Another learning style is logical learning. A logical learner uses reasoning and organization of material rationally. A perfect way to communicate with a logical learner is to explain the subject in a sequentially order. A way to explain a logical learner how to write an essay, make him do it systematically...

...and Public Relations Herzing University Pamela Zipfel March 15, 2015 Research Program Research Program In developing a research program for a new book store for Herzing University, I would first start6 with a research plan. This would prompt me to use a marketing research plan, consumer research, advertising research and strategic research. “Market research complies information about a product.” (Hall, Prentice 2009) Consumer research is used to see what consumers are in the market for. Advertising research focuses on getting your product out there, example would be social media. Strategic research is the final plan and becomes the base of your research it allows the company to compile information from the social media and what influences consumers to purchase a product. (Hall, Prentice 2009) During the exploratory research process I would start with the literature research process, because it is the cheapest. I would use the census bureau, newspaper, and magazines to collect whether there is a need for a bookstore and what sort of books people would want to read. I would then decide if I need Qualitative or Quantitative research. Quantitative research will give numerical data. Qualitative Research gives a more details, such as consumer behavior. It observes what consumers are interested in and explores the nature of the consumer’s insight on a product. I would choose Qualitative research because it would give me more of an overview on what consumers are......

...Explain why the solution would help the middle-income customer. Provide credible sources to support your decision. Implementing a training program that would assist middle-managers in the proper procedures when faced with the difficult decision to terminate employees is essential to the overall health of a company. A step by step program will aid a manager from the very beginning to the end of the process. The program could take a manager step by step from the beginning, the manager deciding that an employee or group of employees need to be terminated or laid off. To starting the process, form deciding why the employee or group needs to be let go, filling out the proper paper work, filing the paper work correctly, calling the individuals in and informing them that they are being terminated or let go with proper communication, aiding that employee in what is going to happen next (if applicable) and finally the after care for the employees that were left behind. The program will take a manager through every possible scenario to ensure they can feel confident that they followed the correct steps and maintained a high level of professionalism. These programs are vital to a business because they will enable managers know how to, “be informed about and comply with legislation, treat the employee fairly and act in good faith, handle the termination process in a professional way that preserves the employee's dignity, be careful about how much information is communicated to others......

...RESEARCH Research is a process involving a series of steps to collect and analyse the information needed for decision-making in the desired / specific field of inquiry. The term research can be applied to any field of human activity. Research means ‘studious enquiry’ or a systematic, honest and impartial study conducted by trained men using scientific methods. It means detailed study relating to a particular subject. The purpose of research is to find a solution to a particular type of problem or showing the problem a direction towards solution or putting some light in the unknown areas of knowledge for your enlightenment, to that particular area of knowledge-thus research actually help us to understand our reality more clearly, as well as help us to enjoy better living standard. So, research is kind of a project to find out some answers or solutions for a particular area-research. Every project has its scope of work, time-line and resources, that is why you may easily inter -relate research work with a project. There are two different types of research: basic and applied research. These two research types are used in a variety of studies and field disciplines including psychology, biology and chemistry. Basic research is about understanding the various processes between memory, learning, and knowledge. It is about finding information, while it may become applied later, researchers choose to research topic of interest to them. It is about figuring out the answer......

...goal of the research process is to produce new knowledge or deepen understanding of a topic or issue. This process takes three main forms (although, as previously discussed, the boundaries between them may be obscure): * Exploratory research, which helps identify and define a problem or question. * Constructive research, which tests theories and proposes solutions to a problem or question. * Empirical research, which tests the feasibility of a solution using empirical evidence. There are two ways to conduct research: Primary research Using primary sources, i.e., original documents and data. Secondary research Using secondary sources, i.e., a synthesis of, interpretation of, or discussions about primary sources. There are two major research designs: qualitative research and quantitative research. Researchers choose one of these two tracks according to the nature of the research problem they want to observe and the research questions they aim to answer: Qualitative research Understanding of human behavior and the reasons that govern such behavior. Asking a broad question and collecting word-type data that is analyzed searching for themes. This type of research looks to describe a population without attempting to quantifiably measure variables or look to potential relationships between variables. It is viewed as more restrictive in testing hypotheses because it can be expensive and time consuming, and typically limited to a single set of research subjects.......

...I. Summary In the year between 1999 and 2001, Dick Brown was hired as the CEO and chairman of EDS (Electronic Data Services) Corporation which was one of the largest players in IT outsourcing to turn around EDS from down profits, flat revenues, indecisiveness, poor accountability, and organizational structure that did not fit its environment. Brown places a strong focus on the customer to provide them meaningful derive value. In order to achieve this new mission, he built skills in e-commerce areas and especially, aggressively chased mega-outsourcing contracts. There are three highlights of the long-term mega-contracts of EDS: 1) Mega-outsourcing contracts can lock in revenue streams for a significant period of time, for example, 10 years. However, these contracts involved in large amount of up-front outlays, which are typically debt financed, and wait for cash flow to pay them off. At the same time, the cost related to running the client’s data processing operation for the contract period was locked in. 2) The price of the contract is negotiable with clients. Typically, the contract price decreased over the like of the contract. Moreover, if there were large discrepancies existing when comparing with EDS competitors, the clients can negotiate a lower contract price or cancel the contract. In this case, EDS was not reimbursed any up-front cost. 3) Economic downturn and other events would reduce EDS’ contractual revenues. Brown changed the internal......
