Effects of Marriage

...command in the bible that married couples should or can divorce, because as stated before God strongly disagrees with divorce. The only time God permits divorce is because of martial unfaithfulness. Matthew 19:9 states “I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries other women who commit adultery.” However, divorce is also permitted is cases like desertion. “But if the unbeliever leaves, let it be so. The brother or the sister is not bound in such circumstances; God has called us to live in peace.” (1 Cur 7:15) In today’s society couples get divorced for many reasons, which is against what the bible teaches. Biblically it is acceptable for Christians to remarry. Look again at the verse 1 Cur 7:15, it is an okay for a man or women who are left should be able to get remarried. “But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion” (1 Cur 7:9) First was not created to be alone, meaning that divorcees should get remarried so that do not partake in sexual immorality. 1 Corinthians 7:2 says “But since sexual immorality is occurring, each man should have sexual relations with his own wife and each woman with her own husband” Many times divorce has negative impact with in the church and even within the society. Divorce causes many people to become depressed, and spiritually destroyed. Not only does divorce affects the husband and wife it also affects the children.......
