This report aims to analyse the two possible steps that Eton College could potentially take to expand their student population. The first plausible action would be to increase the number of foreign students in the UK and the second is to set up a new school in China. Throughout the paper, one will focus on the issues facing Eton College with regards to the globalisation of its education services and how it will impact the school.

Context for globalisation of services.
Many other schools and universities have already taken the approach to expand their campuses into foreign countries, many of which are in China. Should Eton just increase their student population in their current school, it will find it difficult to compete with other renowned schools competitively in the future. As observed by Dirk Willem teVelde in 2005, “The education sector itself is subject to globalisation (Sauvé, 2002).” Although for many years, education has been very much considered a public good, it is now debated that “GATs (General Agreement on Trade in Services) is becoming more flexible in governments being able to decide whether or not they wish to open up to education provision from foreign providers, whilst there are others who suggest that education is about more than just a (traded) commodity.” Therefore, as a result, many educational institutions are branching out away from their original locations and creating replicas or slightly adapted versions of themselves in other countries, namely in the Asia-Pacific region. In order for Eton to maintain its competitiveness, it too must expand its portfolio and either diverse or enlarge its capacity in its Windsor campus.
There are problems which could be encountered when attempting to globalise education, or at least one’s style of education. Teaching is a pure service and is consumed as it is produced, it is also…...

...Channeling Students into Special Services In our school system many of our students need to enroll in a special education program (IEP) for one reason or another. A teacher has to know her student well in order for this process to take place. The teacher needs to be an advocate, and initiate the order of steps that will get this student into the (IEP). The first thing that needs to be done is a letter is written to the school counselor. This letter should give reference to the students weak, and strong points. The letter must indicate the reasons why the student should be enrolled into an IEP program. This letter is then sent to the principal, and then onto the district county administrator. Review of the letter in detail, and the s the difficulties that the child is having so that a determination can be made if the child is in need of the IEP. After this is done the parents are allowed to look over the letter. Once the letter is reviewed by the school district administrator a determination of an evaluation is done if necessary. This is when a specialist is called in a time, place, and date is set for the child to be evaluated by the specialist. The parents of the child are made aware of what is going on the whole time their child is being evaluated. The specialist will run many screening test on the student, while school records are being reviewed in its entirety also grades and behavior. ...respondents in grade 7 with 24.81%, for the second year, there were 98 respondents which is equivalent to 25.06%, for the third year, there were 96 respondents and equivalent to 24.55% and 100 respondents with 25.58% for the fourth year. It shows that the fourth year level has the high frequency respondents. For the honors and awards received, there were 28 valedictorian, 24 salutatorian, 52 belong to the TOP 10, 19 who gained awards for sports, 32 academic awardees like best in math, English etc, 34 for the behavioral awards and 202 for no rewards or honors at all. With the percentages of 7.16, 6.13, 4.86, 8.18, 8.70, and 51.66 respectively. It shows that out of 391 students, there were 202 non-awardees which is considered as the biggest frequency for honors and awards received category. With the large amount of veterans discharged from the Iraq starting December 2011 (Cutler, 2011) , the demand to process benefit claims are rapidly increasing and their move for horizontal expansion might be more than they can handle. Education program After the Vietnam War, the DVA proposed a new program to help veterans and their education with the education program. The idea is promising because the benefits included financial assistance with tuition, housing, and textbooks. Realistically, the program had encountered a major issue with the new education program. With the rapid increase of veterans in the past decade, the claims processed could be too much for the VBA to handle. Early in September 2009, the DVA failed to send out “about 227,000 scheduled college checks for those qualifying for the GI Bill education benefits.” (Katel, 2010) As of a result, the Secretary of Veterans Affair Eric Shinseki issued an emergency $3,000.00 check to those veterans. The error in not processing the education payments on-time was a major hit to the VBA. Their reputation became negatively criticize by their lack of responsibility. This was a wake-up call for the DVA and there needed to be a change in a new processing system and in their corporate culture.
