My Job Role
My main responsibilities as a home manager are:
Care:
Initially before a resident is admitted into my home I carry out a needs assessment to ensure the home can meet the needs of the resident, this involves me going to meet them at the address where they are residing or a place of their choice. The home which I manage is a home for residents with different types of dementia and there are different stages, residents that have the onset of dementia are able to answer most questions however there are also residents in which their dementia is quite advanced and they may not have the ability to answer as they may not understand the questions being asked, in this and most cases there are other family members and social workers involved in the assessment process. Working in partnership can have a positive influence on the assessment process, and the benefit of working in partnership is that others can make an effective contribution to the assessment. Working in partnership brings a range of professional perspectives, knowledge and skills to the assessment process. Once the resident comes to my home a care plan is completed using information gained from the assessment and from the resident themselves. On admission the wishes of residents with regards to the way they live their life are obtained. This should be from the resident themselves, if they are able to do so, or from family or other persons that know them well. A detailed history of the resident’s life should also be obtained so that the staff can know the person as they were as well as how they are now. Care plans are written in agreement with residents. residents that are unable to express their wishes are still asked their wishes but the input of those who know the resident well are used as well to formulate person centred care plans. Documentation reflects the input of the resident or others who…...

My Role Model

...underestimate the impact of the role model that teachers and school staff provide to students. I spent five years as a boarding student in High School and one teacher and one staff member had a profound effect on my life and faith journey. My Grade 8 Science teacher took the time to quietly talk to me after my second test which I had not done well in. He let me know that trying to fit in and thus not study for the test was not the answer – and encouraged me to do my best. His quiet, understanding approach was just what I needed at that point in my life. Even more profound was the effect of the cook on my life. He was always pleasant and polite, no matter how tough the comments from the students. It is impossible to provide food for 100 students just like mum does at home for the family. I had the job of opening the kitchen about 5 am to start getting breakfast ready. I had to go down to the cook’s flat and get the keys. He usually left them on the table just inside his room. Numerous times when I quietly slipped in to get the keys, I found him asleep beside his bed on his knees. That quiet statement about the practice of his faith has left an abiding impression on my own spiritual journey – even to this day. Something that came through very strongly in the interview with the Christian teacher who wanted his son in our school rather than in his prestigious private school, was his desire to have his son have strong Christian role models. There are excellent......

My First Job

...Jason McDonnell Quentin Overton English 111 x April 24, 2014 My First Job  My first job was that of a cattle rancher on our family ranch. As a kid I loathed having to work with cattle, fix fence and windmills. I learned to appreciate it later in life as I thought about how the experience shaped my work habits. My Granddad grew up in the sand hills of Nebraska on his father’s ranch. Grandma wanted to move to town, so the big ranch was sold and the one I grew up on was bought. My brother, sister and I had always been expected to do chores around the house and take care of the yard. Most brothers and sisters dislike each other from time to time, but we were family, we didn’t stay mad long, or else it would end up in a hand holding session out on the front porch. I'd spend the next 18 years enslaved to there. I worked every weekend and summer often sun up to sundown. There are no days off when you have a ranch. This upbringing provided a wonderful relationship with my Granddad. As I grew older and was eventually paid $300 a summer, I started to appreciate the pride that came with having money in my pocket. More importantly, I realized we were not only feeding our family but supporting a way of life. At the end of a long hot summer day came a strong sense of accomplishment as we finished up branding 215 calves. There were many days when personal plans had to be cancelled due to an issue on the ranch. Usually it was broken down equipment, broken fence, or a windmill that......

Role of the Internet in Job Seeking

...[Type the company name] | Role of the Internet in the Job Search Industry | E-MARKETING | Executive Summary The purpose of this report is to critically analyse the roles of the internet in the job searching industry. It also outlines how the internet has significantly changed the relationship between employer and employees, providing a faster and more effective medium of job selection and recruitment. The two companies analysed in this report are SEEK and Jobfind Centres Australia. The key findings to this report shows how internet has changed traditional methods of job searching into a more dynamic and efficient way of searching and applying for jobs. Traditional methods of job searching include handing in countless paper resumes, looking in newspapers, and referrals from friends and family; all in which can take up time and effort. The online job searching industry also lets employers reach a wider audience with online job advertisements and gives them the opportunity to locate and recruit suitable candidates for vacant positions. SEEK provides both employers and job seekers with the ability to access and communicate their needs and desires for a job. Online profiles and advertisements help users to easily find the criteria they are after. The free registration for both parties creates an effective communication channel between employers and job seekers to find the right person to fill job vacancies. My Job

...Improving Organizational Performance at AirDevils Linking job satisfaction and organization productivity directly to an employee’s psychological state within the workplace is possible using theory of motivation. Rectifying psychological causes such as dissatisfaction motivate employees to perform tasks well, thus leading to productive behavior. Rectifying psychological factors can remove workplace stressors and relieve issues employees face in the workplace. AirDevils is a company full of dissatisfied and stressed employees. Although they may seem linked, the cause for dissatisfaction is not the cause for stress or vice versa as two specific groups make up the company. The performers make up one group and the supporting crewmembers make up the other. Dissatisfied performers create a downward spiral in productivity, and stressed crewmembers are unavailable or missing from work. The job characteristics theory of motivation is applicable to both groups to create improved job satisfaction and organizational productive by lowering stress. Improving the performers behavior by incorporating new stunts in routines can create a better aerial performance. In turn, AirDevils may begin to win awards in competition with the new routine, leading to improved job satisfaction. Some crewmembers are also aspiring performers, but too many are not able to keep pace because of injury and job stress. My Best Job

...lucky enough to find such a restaurant. After serving here at Vescio’s Italian Restaurant for over two years this is my testimonial as to why serving at a family run restaurant is the best job experience I have ever had and why you as current or prospective servers should take into account such a fantastic experience. Frank T. Vescio opened Vescio’s Italian Restaurant in 1956. He passed away in 1987 but the restaurant has lived on by his son Frank C. Vescio. Vescio’s has been serving authentic Italian cooking and tradition ever since. My first experience with Vescio’s was the Interview. The interview process is less rigorous than I have ever experienced, especially taking into account the chain restaurants I have worked at; Applebee’s and Panera Bread. I went into Vescio’s Italian Restaurant on a Wednesday afternoon midsummer. The girl I was dating at the time worked at the restaurant for about a month when she had mentioned that her boyfriend was in need of a job and that he was capable of doing anything. Donna G. the current server manager was the interviewer. She is an older woman that has been working at the restaurant for over 40 years, she reminded me of my grandmother, extremely young at heart and always willing to learn from the younger generation of servers. After a few minutes of speaking with her I had the job. For Applebee’s and Panera Bread my hand hurt after the hours of paperwork that had to be filled out. I started working only a few days later and I did...

My Utopia Job

... Haley Lytle Principles of Management My Utopia Job 6/16/2016 Haley Lytle Lytle 1 6/16/2016 Three Needs Before this course, I never really stopped to consider what my strengths in management consist of. As I went through the course and learned about the various management strengths, I began to create a clear picture of what I can do well. The strengths I have come to recognize are adapting, planning, and self-management. Management is the process of dealing with or controlling people or things, and with this, comes a lot of information. Having strong management skills furthers you not only in your career, but in your personal life as well. An organizational culture is related to organizational success. Adaptability falls under this category. “Adaptability is the ability to notice and respond to changes in the organization’s environment.”(Williams 104) Any culture can become dysfunctional if it doesn’t embrace change, because everything is constantly changing all the time whether we move with it or not. Ever since I was born, I’ve had to learn how to adapt in order to survive, so I believe this is one of my strongest management strengths. Being born three months early, moving more times then I know – including going to four different kinder gardens in different states, and doing my fair share of traveling out of the country has built a natural ability to change when the environment changes. An individual should be accepting of change in their personal life, and......
