Brave Ne World

... Brave new world Brave New World is an example of a perfect world. The people of this Utopic society live in a world that is free social-economic challenges. In totalitarianism society most spheres of life are controlled. For instance, population, social class, and even intellectual capability. History is directed and controlled to suit the aspiration of the state. However, a critical analysis of totalitarianism nothing of the sort. The application of specific social orientation and the use anti-depressant drugs have significantly solved the challenges faced by people in modern societies. It is prudent to note that poverty, class rivalry and overpopulation is perfected at the costs of individuality and with that their humanity. The people depicted by "brave new world" are oriented towards the needs of the state. Individual expression is squashed since everybody is conditioned to think alike. Brave New World is a book presenting a future society that looks more realistic and less brave at people’s social values turn more materialistic and as the faith in God diminishes slowly as is it replaced by technology. This book is meant to enhance human awareness of the terrifying future. The diversity of social operation within a society is controlled by the creation of social class. In order to maintain social stability, totalitarianism system uses various techniques of social control. After birth each person is taken through a process of......

...between people in our rapidly advancing generation. In Paul Dooley and Winnie Holzman’s play Post-Its (Notes on a Marriage), we watch as two young people who are in love and newly married, begin to leave each other post its notes when they have no time for communication with one another. The author successfully tells an amazing love story using a unique means of communication. According to Anne Maydan Nicotera, “communication is critical to inter-personal relationships” (Nicotera). The notes vary from topics such as one not wanting to wake the other as they leave early for work, for tasks that need to be completed throughout the day. The audience, through the reading of the post- its notes views the couple’s life as it goes through the early stages of a relationship, to having a child, to a downhill slide of their relationship, the steady reconstruction of a marriage, and eventually it goes on until one of the two passes on. By leaving these post-its notes, the unnamed couple manages to have a basis of communication upon which they both are able to agree upon. They manage to find a convenient and effective way to convey what they need to say to one another through post-its notes, and even though things get rough, and arguments ensue, they find their strength and return to one another. Their relationship is refound with a clean slate, and although there are occasional spats in the notes, the audience can see that their relationship is much easier once they settled their......

...next semester; I think you didn’t know how to sing when the note is really high. And the teacher will help you about this, and your chin always up when you sing but you never realized that.” So at the very beginning of this semester I changed a class to this class, and want to improve my singing skill. And just like my mother said that I can’t put my chin down when I was singing. And professor also pointed out this problem. And my facial expression was not very rich when I was singing, that seems like that I didn’t put myself in to that song. Just like a mission to complete. I worked on the chin problem and also the sight singing. Fortunately, the experience of playing the piano made me identify the tone accurate. And I don’t have to spend much time on working this. Therefore, I work hard on controlling my chin, and I still can’t adapt it at the very beginning. But through my hard working I can really handle it now. And as for sight singing, during this semester, I often singing before a mirror and practice my facial expression. And it was working. Now I think my facial expression is much better than before. And there is another point, when there was a really high note that I can’t reach it by my voice before. However, during this semester, I learned how to use my throat to reach that high note. Although I can’t describe how to do this in English, I really felt that was really changed. I can reach some really high note now. Time passed really fast, and this semester will......

...NEZAVISNE I KONSTITUENTSKE JEDINICE I NJIHOVE FUNKCIJE 1. 2. KONSTITUENTSKE JEDINICE I KONSTITUENTSKE FUNKCIJE - Konstituentske funkcije se javljaju u okviru predikatskih rečenica i sintagmi, realizuju se imeničkim, pridjevskim priloškim i glagolskim riječima i sintagmama u odgovarajućem obliku i zavisnim rečenicama. 3. SINTAKSIČKI OBLIK KONSTITUENTSKIH JEDINICA - Sinstaksički oblik konstituentske jedinice, tj.pokazatelj njene funkcije i značenja, predstavlja njen konstituentski oblik. Taj oblik čine: gramatički oblik leksičlog jezgra i pomoćne i druge riječi koje su vezane za upotrebu konstituentskih jedinica, npr.prijedlozi kod imeničkih jedinica, a zavisni veznici i odnosne i upitne zamjenice i prilozi kod zavisnih rečenica. 4.

...Notes : In the poem, as well as the movie, the two major female characters are Wealthow and Grendel's mother. Unlike the movie, neither of these characters have large roles in the poem. Both play their part but are described very little. Wealthow is often only called the "gold-ringed queen" and only exists to play "a noble woman who knew what was right" (Raffel, 31). Despite her noble status, Wealthow holds her tongue and is only mentioned when she serves Beowulf and his soldiers mead from a jeweled cup. Grendel's mother, on the other hand, plays a slightly bigger role, but only as an evil idenity. Her name is never revealed and she is only known as Grendel's mother, signifying that the male defines the female. Additionally, Grendel's mother is the only female character that poses a threat to Beowulf and his men. Unfortunately, she is portrayed as a "mighty water witch", insinuating that any woman who defied an man was evil and wicked (Raffel, 41). These two female characters demonstrate the Anglo-Saxon ideas that women should be figures rather than hold any real power. Notes how women have become stronger forces in the world, yet are still held back by men. In the movie, Grendel's mother is shown to be little more than a sex object in the eyes of men, which actual allows her to hold power over them. She is able to seduce Hrothgar and Beowulf, creating sons for her evil to live on through. These monsters eventually attack the men as the repercussions of the "sins of the......

Nes China Case Study

...Case study on NES China – Business ethics 1.Problem Statement The case about a company NES which is a Germany-headquartered multinational company that builds heavy machinery, automotive systems, electrical drives and steel tubes and pipes It began business in China since 1889, with 20 representative offices, 6 equity joint ventures, and 3 wholly owned enterprises. Now The Company wants to set up a holding company to facilitate its manufacturing activities in China. The case brings about the conflict between Western and Chinese business practices and protocols resulting in ethical dilemma. 2.Central issues of the case (2x2 matrixes)   |   | Importance |   |   | High | Low | Urgency | High | Obtaining approval for the holding company within a month | Uphold strong ethical culture and good corporate image as a publicly traded company | | Low | Develop a special ethical code to recognize Chinese business culture | Career development of people responsible for the approval | 3.Case problems The core issue around this case is the major differences between Chinese and western ethical values. It is common, in most developed Western countries, for businesses and government officials to closely follow business rules and regulations that are straightforward and by the books.   There is absolutely no room for working around any of them, without risking your reputation and ultimately your career. It is common for Western cultures to implement internal audits to...

Peut-on Ne Pas Être Soi-Même?

Peut-on Ne Pas Croire

Nes China Case Study

...NES Question 1 Indeed, the amount of money that Chen was told to give each of the government officials was not much, but the action itself would have some consequences. However, it is unquestionably right to look at these consequences in two ways, the rule of law and local culture. First, According to the Chinese law, giving gifts of any kind to the government officials with intent of taking advantage of their position and power to conduct illegal action is bribery. This action of giving money to government officials may therefore be regarded as bribery; as a result involved parties may be penalized or even end up in jail. The Stakeholders may also decide to withdraw investing in such a corrupt environment. Secondly, it is undeniably true that local culture plays a tremendous role in a local business environment, therefore we must also argue with regards to culture. As far as Chinese culture is concerned, the need of maintaining networks or relationships (locally known as “關係Guan Xi”) in business environment is tremendously important and it is deeply rooted in the Chinese people’s DNA and other Asian countries that are also influenced by the Teachings of Confucius. According to the teachings of Confucius, relationships or networks(關係), and Face (mian zi), were among other things that were highly emphasized and helped to build up the Chinese culture which can be evidenced by the findings of Geert Hofstede in his theory of culture dimension that most Asian culture with no......
