Personality Assessment

...Throughout my years of growing up, I had came across many personality assessments in my life, yet none of them had got me thinking that I was looking in to a personality trait mirror, until this one. I discovered that most of the traits had given feedback very accurately and among these traits, the most accurate one of all was ‘extraversion’, it stated exactly who I feel I portray; a sociable, energetic, outgoing and lively person that enjoys being around people as much as they love to be around me. The only traits that caught my attention was my ‘activity level’ and ‘gregariousness’ because the two results somewhat contradicted themselves. Gregariousness describes a person who is fond of the company of others and I scored 96 out of a possible 99 points. Yet I only scored 32 points for my ‘activity level’ which defines whether individuals live active, fast paced and busy lives. ‘Gregariousness’ scored as my top trait, which means that I would find the company of others very rewarding, which is true because much of my time spent is with someone or seeking someone for company. On the contrary, I only received an average score for ‘activity level’ which I feel is too low because my life is considered to be fast paced as I always try to finish as many tasks as fast as possible to allocate more time to fulfill my gregariousness. As for the most helpful feedback I received through this assessment would be ‘imagination’ which I scored 10 out of 99. I always felt I had a rich......

Its target customers are mainly focus on middle level income. The company wants to expand its business into a new market and increase the profit and competitive advantages. However, due to the retail stores rent continuously increasing, it affected the company hardly to open another store in Hong Kong; some of the markets are lack of operators, so even have a store with reasonable price, it also have high risk to start the business in those markets, such as Mong Kok; Besides, the prices of fishes and other raw materials also increased the cost, because of over fishing and too many competitors, both had dropped with the quality and quantity of fishes. In this report, I found the internal factors and external factors affect the business growth by using SWOT analysis. The main finding in this analysis is the operation of Ho Lee is difficult to maintain in the future. The reason is the company was family-orient based in operation, but it is lack of talents to organize and...

I am introvert, Introvert live in inside him or herself, all the most important thing in his life happening inside him. This does not mean that he does not see the world around him; he just pays much less attention than the inner world. And even looking outside, he looks at everything through the prism itself. It is not self-centered, but rather isolation, isolation on himself. His world is a world of his experiences, feelings and thoughts. There he goes off to recuperate after a collision with external reality. Outside world brings him more tests than joy. But his inner world, his refuge, he knows inside out. If you ask an introvert, what happens to him inside, he cannot describe it, because there is no such word or words you need a lot. And if this is to ask an extrovert, he also cannot say anything, but because their inner world for him - a......

Personality Assessment

...S08 psychology of personality This essay will provide information on the Thematic Apperception Test and the Millon Multiaxial Personality Test. It will be followed by a compare and contrast section on the two personality assessment instruments. The Thematic Apperception Test or TAT was first developed in 1935 by Henry Murray and Christiana Morgan at the Harvard Psychological Clinic. It is based in the psychodynamic theories of personality. The TAT is administered as part of a group of tests intended to evaluate personality. The TAT is a projective instrument intended to evaluate a person's patterns of thought, attitudes, observational capacity, and emotional responses to ambiguous test materials. In the case of the TAT, the ambiguous materials consist of a set of black, white and gray cards which portray human figures in a variety of settings and situations. The subject is asked to tell the examiner a story about each card that includes the event shown in the picture; what has led up to it; what the characters in the picture are feeling and thinking; and the outcome of the event. The stories reveal expectations of relationships with peers, parents and/or other authority figures, subordinates, and possible romantic partners. In addition to evaluating the content of the stories, the examiner evaluates the subject's manner, vocal tones, posture, hesitations, and other signs of an emotional response to a particular story picture. Psychoanalytic Personality Assessment

...Psychoanalytic Personality Assessment Joe Johnson PSY/250 February 2, 2015 Anne Snyder Psychoanalytic Personality Assessment As psychoanalytical schools of thought have developed over the years, a number of different approaches have emerged that have shaped and formed the administration of psychotherapy. While each differs in their approach to the end result, they share a common goal to help nurture the wellbeing of an individual, both consciously and unconsciously. Where some build an experimental relationship, others will use dialogue and speech to establish a rapport, or focus specifically on improving overall mental health of the patient. (Bouchard et al., 2001) While effectiveness normally requires the treatment to be fitted to the specific psychological problem for the patient, some debate remains on which is the best possible course of action for each. There are three primary psychoanalytical theories commonly applied to psychotherapy, which are respectively attributed to Freud, Jung, and Adler. (McCrae, 2011) This paper attempts to compare and contract the three different theories and provide the stages of Freud’s theory along with three uses of Freudian defense mechanisms. Psychoanalytic Theory, Three Schools of Thought Freud’s psychoanalytic theory is based on the collected works and studies of Sigmund Freud, for whom the theories are named. Most of the base theories developed by Dr. Freud were expanded and split into different......

Personality Assessment

...Personality Assessment and Theories Personality tests can be objective or projective. Through using a standardized format or through assessing yourself more directly the answers may change from day-to-day or month to month. People behave differently in varying situations through tracking personalities many inconsistences are found. Whether someone is given a structured interview or a personality inventory may not matter when the individual has learned and adapted. Personality inventories such as the NEO-PI-R or big 5 are based on the trait theory of personality. This theory stands for a more factored analysis that holds group traits accountable for personal behaviors. One example of trait in this theory is a person’s tendency to be aggressive. Eysenck’s theory based on traits claimed there were areas of personality; emotional stability, introversion-extroversion, and psychoticism. These tests take into account inherent predisposed behaviors and talents. Tests that gauge a person’s strengths and weaknesses this way are multiple choice formats, centered on extroversion, orderliness, emotional stability, accommodation, and inquisitiveness. Each time a big 5 assessment was taken results received differed. I think the results partially have to do with how you are feeling on a day-to-day basis and should be used as a guide. I believe these assessments to be objective and open to interpretation considering life situations. These are the kinds of surveys that a......

Personality Assessment

...Personality Assessment and Theories Mary Beers BEH/225 Week 6 Day 5 Personality is a special gift for each and every individual. The uniqueness we all have is very complex as well as interesting. Psychologists have different techniques for the understanding and explaining the way an individual thinks and acts for each situation in one’s life. The four methods a psychologist use to test our personality. The four are personal interviews, direct observations of behavior, projective testing and objective testing may be used to calculate and explain our personality. The Personal interview is the Psychodynamic Humanistic and Social Learning theory. Psychologists use the test by obtaining information in ways such as conversation, some structured and some unstructured interviews are given. The information obtained is used to evaluate how a person is structured individually. The unstructured interview is more of a spontaneous nature where as the structured interview is a more focused on more structured and specialized material. The structure interview will hence lead the direction of the interview between client and psychologists. Direct observation is the second method used to gather information. The direct observation is conducted thru observing a client. This method is preferred by......

...Effective Leadership and Management in Nursing According to the Myers- Briggs assessment, I discovered that my personality was ISTJ (Introverted Sensing Thinking Judging). The detailed version of this assessment was described as moderately expressed introvert, slightly expressed sensing personality, slightly expressed thinking personality, and moderately expressed judging personality. Nothing made sense to me at first, but after I read the detailed explanation I found out that there were several similarities. According to the assessment – “They have a keen sense of right and wrong, especially in their area of interest and/or responsibility” (ISTJ, 2012). This statement is true as have often noticed that when I try to get work done I do it if I have a complete awareness of what is the right approach. I am extremely devoted to the task at hand. People who interact with me think that I have a cold barrier in front of me at first glance. It takes me a while to warm up to others. I always believe in planning and adopting a methodical approach. This helps me to finish my tasks on time in an orderly fashion. I always make it a point to meet deadlines. Therefore, I always work faster and love to be busy. I am not happy when my colleagues do not finish their work on time. Their inconsistency upsets me. I prefer to stick to conventional methods on performing a tasks. I believe if I follow an approach that is most familiar, work gets done at a faster pace...
