Business research is the process by which investors determine if starting an organization is a worthwhile investment. It also refers to market analysis during a corporation's lifetime that seeks information about the chance of success associated with growth endeavors. This kind of research is essential for minimizing risk in the business environment. Business research delves into the markets surrounding a company to see how well a new product, service or expansion is received. These insights include public opinion, market saturation, enterprise investors, and availability of industry resources. Determining the viability of these endeavors allows companies to move forward with growth ideas without fear of these operations floundering or proving to be a poor choice.
Conducting business research is carried out by specialized third parties so that these operations do not interfere with everyday productivity and workflow. These outside enterprises help organizations measure important business factors and invest wisely in their futures with the wisdom of what works best in an intended business sphere. Gathering all pertinent information about an investment scenario ensures that corporations are always moving forward with the best possible outcomes likely to occur. Business research applies to marketing, sales, corporate expansion, employee training, and coaching outlets in the overall likelihood that an endeavor is going to work. Any research or experiment consists of at least one independent and dependent variable and will measure the effect that independent variables have on the dependent variable. Dependent variables depend upon the value of the independent variable. A researcher will determine if the value of the dependent…...

...Team Week 2 Reflection Summary RES/351 Team C Week 2 Reflection Summary Week 1 taught us the importance of learning about business research. Business research is important because it helps business owners find solutions to problems they may have within their company. If one wonders why he or she is not getting more customers, researching the problem is a great way to find an answer or multiple answers to this question or problem. Even though it is good to do research it is just as important to know how to research a problem. Good scientific method standards are important because it generates dependable data that executives use to make reliable and accurate decisions within the company. If scientific method standards are not met, it produces unreliable data that executives cannot use, which is a waste of time. It highly increases the risk of the managers making decisions for the business. In week one the focus was to understand how business research improves managerial decision making. The research process starts with clarifying the research question that involves defining the dilemma. Stage two of the research process is proposing research that includes resource allocation and budgets. The next two stages of the process are designing the research project and data collection and preparation. ...Foundations of Your Own Business RES/351 November 3, 2013 Foundation of Your Own Business The process of starting your own business begins with one thing, research. First you must collect and then process it into information that can be used to define more details on where you should open a place, how you should run or open it, and how you should operate it. You should also look into the market or what type of customers that you will be serving in that area. I plan on opening some sort of baseball academy in my hometown in New Jersey. There is a lot of work that goes into even the thought of starting a business like that. First you have to find out what the cost of something like that up front would be. Also you must find out what it will cost to maintain the business or the overhead. That includes things like the payroll, supply costs, taxes, and rent. One of the most important things to research when starting a business locally or even nationally is to research the competition. You should find out what pricing or promotions they use for things similar to what you offer. This is how you can lay a great foundation and get clientele right away but also remains competitive with them. These are all things that can lead to success from the start. Researching the demographics can also play a huge roll into what type of customers are going to come in and what they are going to pay versus what you charge. All of this is crucial when it comes to staying in business but......

Week Three Reflection Summary

...Week Three Reflection Summary Anna Delarosa RES 351 February 3, 2014 Dr. Joseph Oloyede Week Three Reflection Summary Within our third week, the team was tasked with the objective to differentiate between qualitative and quantitative methods of research. Next, the team was asked to explain the commonly used qualitative research designs and quantitative research designs. Finally the team was the asked to identify how to select appropriate research designs in any given situation. Quantitative research attempts to achieve precise measurement of something; often the responses received are veiled, classified, and condensed to numbers to be manipulated for statistical analysis (Cooper & Schindler, 2011, p. 164). The insights gained from completing this research is limited by the opportunity to probe respondents, and the quality of the original data collection instrument. Additionally, this will follow data collection and data entry, with a small window of opportunity to circle back with survey participants. In contrast, qualitative research is intended to tell the examiner how and why things happen as they do, it also aims to achieve a thorough understanding of a situation. The expected result or insights with this method provide a more profound level of understanding; which is determined by the type and amount of open-ended questions. Using qualitative research allows the researcher to inform insights and test them throughout the study process. ......

...Internal and External Factors Team A Executives, managers and companies, would not exist if these four fundamentals were not applied; planning, organizing, leading and managing. It takes these four key elements to run a business no matter how small or large the business is. Planning is the first function; here is where expectations and goals are set to be achieved. Organizing is next, here is where management assembles and coordinates human, financial, physical, informational and other resources needed to achieve the goals (Bateman & Snell, 2011). From there, we move onto leading; where management shows that they are good leaders. By stimulating their employees in a positive way to produce and perform at exceptional high rates with quality work. Lastly, there is managing. Bateman and Snell (2011) stated, "By managing, managers make sure the company's resources are being used as planned and that the business is meeting its goals" (p. 16).
