Research Strategy Paper

There are many challenges that people face on a day-to-day basis. These challenges may differ depending on one’s lifestyle, responsibilities, and personal goals. For a student pursuing a higher education, and the subsequent degree, these obstacles may seem to begin to multiply as one attempts to juggle the many aspects of his or her life. This constant shuffling of responsibilities and deadlines can be extremely tiring, stressful, and ultimately unproductive. It may often seem as if there is far too much to accomplish in the small amount of time each day holds. Many people have been told by another, throughout the span of their lives, that once lost, time can never be regained and this is true. It is rare for such an event as “free time” to occur in which an individual has nothing pressing to attend to. As such, time management becomes an incredibly important tool for one to master. It can be difficult to develop these skills alone though, so it is important for one to understand what time management is, where to gather information on the subject, and how to evaluate and implement the information found.

Defining Time Management

Time management is the effective and proper distribution of time which allows one to maximize his or her productivity and efficiency. It is a set of skills that helps one to prioritize responsibilities and tasks by order of importance, and then manage one’s schedule accordingly. “Successful time management starts with identifying your time-related needs and preferences” (Carter, Bishop, & Kravits, 2007, p. 2). From there it becomes far easier to develop and maintain a schedule which will help one to fight off the temptation to procrastinate. Developing a predetermined schedule also makes it easier for one to make sudden changes when necessary and move tasks and responsibilities around without too much…...

...Research Strategy Paper GEN200 Research Strategy Paper This research strategy paper is about a problem for me in my day to day life and how I would like to come up with a strategy to solve the issue. I will briefly discuss my problem that I’m having in my day-to-day life. Identifying what kinds of information I can use to help in solving this issue and where I can get this information from. I will be going over the process that I will use to evaluate the information that I have gathered. The types of things I will consider as I evaluate the information. Last, I will explain how to use the information I have gathered to resolve the problem or issue at hand. The problem or issue that I am having in my day-to-day life is procrastination. I don’t know why, but for some reason it’s hard for me to get started on any task. I found myself getting very distracted at times and usually wind up avoiding the situation. I think I work better under pressure so I tend to put things off until the last-minute hoping that the time crunch will push me to get the task done. When I know I have to get something done I usually think I have plenty of time and start to blow things off. An example of this is a trip that I have been planning to San Diego in order for me to obtain a birth certificate. My birth certificate is needed in order for me to apply for jobs and other needed benefits. If I did this by mail the process would be more complicated in which......

...Research and Strategy The biggest problem that I face in my day-to-day life is the extreme distaste for my current job. Working as a waitress is a constant source of stress in my life. I do not make enough money to support myself, and I don’t believe I am valued or respected by the management. I have already taken the initial steps toward a new career by attending college for a Bachelor’s degree, however, while I am taking courses I need to find another occupation. First, I need to revise my resume so that it stands out among the other applicants. Websites, such as, have tutorials and instructions on how to write exceptional resumes and cover letters. They also save the finished product which makes it easier for me to apply to several jobs with just a few clicks. Next, I will attend job fairs in addition to searching online and looking at classified ads in the paper. Lastly, I will prepare myself for the interviewing process by researching what types of questions I will be asked and the best ways to answer them. Because interviews give me anxiety, I will research ways to cope with my fears and aid in a more successful job interview. I searched both the school library and online for information on how to write a resume, who is hiring, and how to be an excellent interviewee. Then I made sure that my sources of information were up-to-date. I also made sure that they were valid by researching the author and comparing the information with the other sources.......

Upon making the decision to lose twenty pounds, I can analyze my diet and......

Research has determined it will likely result in attempting to obtain a grant or a small business loan. While a number of the websites visited promise an immediate guarantee of a grant, how can a potential new business owner know for sure what is written in the fine print? Never having applied for any type of grant creates a sense of apprehension and uncertainty with regard to the process. Gathering information from the Small Business Administration is the second option to explore and consider for the purpose of applying for a $20,000 small business loan (, 2009). Description of the problem The original plan was to start the company, conduct business from the personal residence, and limit the service exclusively to the residents of Elbert County, Colorado. However, preliminary demographic research indicated a significantly lower percentage of elderly residents than first expected; therefore, leading to the need of expanding service to a supplementary county. Opening up service to a second county will permit the inclusion of additional physically and mentally disabled adults and children. The purpose of the business will be to service the elderly,......

...Research Strategy Research Strategy A problem in my day-to-day life that I will soon have to solve is reorganizing my life because my husband is deploying. Although we have been through this twice before, this time both of our kids are in school and I added work to my plate of school and taking care of the house. That is not to say that my husband does nothing around the house, quite the contrary, he actually enjoys doing dishes and laundry. He also has no problem taking care of everything else when I am swamped with work and school. However, when he is gone, everything will be on me no matter what. In order to solve the problem there are certain steps I must follow to find the right solutions. I have to gather information, analyze that information, evaluate the information and then apply that information to solve the problem (Carter, Bishop, & Kravits, 2007). Path to Solution Gathering Information The first step in developing a solution to the problem is to gather information. That said, there are things to consider when gather this information. The amount of information needed, the length of time to utilize finding information, and determining the pertinence of the information, are all questions necessary to answer prior to searching for supportive material (Carter, et al., 2007). There are two main sources for me to find the necessary information. The internet is filled with a wealth of information and by using different search engines and......

...Research Strategy Paper Bethany Kittrick GEN/200 November 15, 2010 Annette Tanori Research Strategy Paper Stress! What is stress? You could ask dozens of people that question and you would get dozens of different answers. Everyone has a different reason for being stressed out and they all have different ways of working through it. There is no true way of defining stress because it has so many different meaning to everyone. To me stress is something I deal with in my day-to-day life. Whether it is because of my home life, trying to write a paper, paying bills, or something as little as doing the dishes. To somebody else, stress could be because of the people at work, or just work itself, wrong instructions, or even phone calls. Dealing with stress is something we all deal with differently but we all have to do it and some do it better then others. The information I am going to obtain about stress is how to reduce it in my day-to-day life, also what I can do to help maintain my stress levels so it does not have an effect on my mental and physical health. All of this information can come from many different areas. The American Institute of Stress at has a lot of useful information that can be used to help solve this problem. The AIS (American Institute of Stress) has given many different ways of relieving and reducing stress such as listening to music, yoga, hobbies, friends and family, or keeping a daily journal of events and how you feel are......

As I grown older I like to think and know I have grown in many areas of my life. I think one of the keys to life and success is to always find a challenge and refine ones goals and commitments in life as we push ourselves to unfamiliar terrain in the quest to improve ourselves. Therefore I am in that process of refining and changing some more things in my life one being my current marital/relationship status. ...of quality (includes quality assurance and quality control). [Source: ASQ Statistics Division, Glossary & Tables for Statistical Quality Control, 1983]. The concept of quality management is the foundation for effective management and successful leadership. Programs like Total Quality Management, Six-sigma are practiced by many companies to implement best quality management practices. In my opinion, quality does not belong to just one level within the organization, it needs to be built in every level of the company and become the goal of the company. (Krakau, 2012) Quality in IT development Industry As we have understood the philosophical meaning of quality, I would like to continue the research to focus on the impact of quality management in the IT development Industry. My research project for the program is focusing on the agile methodology and software development. The main reason for me to move that direction is due to my everyday work experience with agile approach. I would like to understand agile approaches and able to make recommendations to improve team productivity, quality and timelines. How to Develop a Research Strategy

...How To Develop A Research Strategy Gen/200 Date Instructor How To Develop A Research Strategy In this paper I have identified a problem I face in my day-to-day life, which is time management. I will discuss how to develop a research strategy to find a solution to my time management problem and include what information should be gathered, where the information can be obtained, how I evaluate the information that I gather, and explain how I will use the information to resolve the problem. Briefly Describe Problem One big problem I notice in my day-to-day life is the feeling like there isn’t enough time in the day to accomplish all the things I want to finish. At least not without some short cuts, or not giving a task the full attention it requires. On top of my already busy schedule, I decided to go back to school. This means managing my time properly is going to have to be priority number one. A lot of times, for me, time management means to just do less during a day or whatever the span of time is. Sometimes just doing less isn’t an option, for those times, it is going to be good to know other strategies to help me make more effective use of my time. Identify What Type of Information To Gather In order to find ways for me to improve my time management skills I need to gather information such as research and studies that have been done to help university students. For even more specific information I can search for articles, peer-reviewed papers...

...Research Strategy Paper My main problem is procrastination. It’s very hard for me to get started on a task. I will usually find anything to avoid the situation. My procrastination gets so bad that it also effects my time management. I can actually remember when I was in high school getting to school on time, was a task in its self. When my alarm went off a t 6:45 in the morning I would reset it until 7:00. Then I would get out of bed go into the bathroom until about 7:20. When I came out I would turn on the television and slowly get dressed. At about 7:45 I would then sit down to eat breakfast. By now its 8:10 or 8:15 I would start walking to the bus stop. Nine times out of ten I would miss the 8:20 bus. Now I have to wait until 8:30, at 8:30 I’m officially late for first period. Its 8:45 and I have to catch another bus; I would ride like two miles to school from there. As I’m riding to school I keep thinking how in the world I get up at 6:45 in the morning and still be late for class. One time I sat down and realized that I procrastinate from the time I wake up in the morning until I go to sleep at night. As I’m sitting here at the computer typing my paper I am doing other things and I didn’t even realize it. Now that I’m taking my time seriously I’ve had reason to find different ways to understand and minimize procrastination. I personally know that stopping procrastination will not happen overnight it takes time and patience. Something a procrastinator has to work on. I...

Time Management Research Strategy

...Time Management Research Strategy Abstract Time is not an issue. People have the same number of hours in the day, the same number of days in a week, and the same number of days in a year. It is the management of that time that separates success and failure. Think about it; offices, homes, and computers have a multitude of online folders, three ring binders, and file cabinets used to manage mail, e-mail messages, memorandums, and other correspondence received. The concept of time management should be no different. Learning to organize tasks and use time more efficiently through a process, puts everything in its place, makes it easy to find, and makes it easy to manage. Time Management Research Strategy People continually pursue techniques to make better use of the time. Effective time management skills used by students juggling classes and homework, people in the workplace meeting deadlines, and households with multiple individual schedules provide for better work-life balance. Those who have not mastered these skills go through the day stressed and overwhelmed. Discovery of effective time management skills can be accomplished only through research. You must first conduct research to identify common causes, and then discover tools and methods used to address the problem, and ways apply those tools effectively. Time management courses offered through a school or business as well as online are an excellent approach to learning skills. According to Time Management.......

Research Strategy

...Research Strategy In this paper, I have identified an obstacle in my path toward a business degree. I used the research skills that I have learned through class reading assignments and exercises to assist me in finding the most effective solution. The Obstacle When I was a student at the University of Hartford, I took an Introduction to Psychology course. My professor would spend class time telling us stories about his experiences during the years he practiced. The stories were interesting and lead to some good class discussion. However, the tests given in class were bases completely on the reading assignments. As a freshman in college, I was determined to stay on track. I was diligent with my reading and took immaculate notes. Despite my efforts I found myself reading assignments multiple times and still not absorbing the information that was being presented. When I received a D on my first Psychology test, I knew something had to change. I have chosen to research ways to improve reading comprehension. I am aware that reading assignments will increase in length and substance the further I advance in my degree program. I want to find strategies that are not only effective in helping me to absorb what I am reading but will also allow me to do so in a time efficient manner. Searching For Solutions Now that I have identified the problem, my next step toward a solution is to seek out strategies that will allow me to use my academic strengths to improve my area of...
