A good parent is guardian and a protector of the family. How do I know ?

Because I have two great parents. My parents raised me from a little boy. They

have given me guidance and love. My mother is a very patient women, who helps

me very much. My dad is a very responsible man who makes sure everything is okay.

One characteristic of being a good parent is being responsible. That means

that you go out and get a job. You buy food and provide shelter and clothing. It also

means being mature enough to handle situations that need thought and care. Being

a good parent you must also provide stability and stucture.

Another characteristic of good parenting is being a good role model. You

must provide guidance to your children so they can stay on the right path. You must

teach them the importance of a good education and help them to succeed at it. You

must also set good examples for your child. Don't just talk about it, be about it.

You must have patience to be a good parent. Screaming and hitting a child

is not a good example of patience. My parents take the time to talk to me. They

explain life. The do"s and the dont's. Although, I am hard headed. I do realize that

they love me and they are looking out for my best interest.

Being a good parent is hard work but it's for a good cause. You need to have

The Characteristics That Makes a Good Student

...The Characteristics that make a good student. Whether or not, yet you think it is important to be a good student. The things that you have done or will do to become a good student. What are you willing to sacrafice to be a good student. In life as I went through the education system, I realized that there were three kinds of students. There were the good students, the average students and the bad students. Many people strive to be in the category of the good student, many settle for the category of the average student and some just don’t care so they end up being placed in the category of the bad student. I find that the most important of those categories is the category of the good student. I feel this way because the good student usually accomplish a lot in life and they are usually the successful ones. The average students do what they do, slide by under the radar, and the bad students don’t care, so the just relax for the rest of their lives. I constantly strive to be a good student. Many people have asked me what are the characteristics of a good student, whether I think being a good student is important or not, the things I have done or will do to become a good student, and what will I sacrafice to become a good student. For a while I was puzzled as to what are the characteristics of a good student, but as I sat back, I realized that I was a good student, and that every student has there own mode of operation. How to Be a Good Parent

...A very good morning to our teachers, parents, guardians and students. It gives me great pleasure to join you here today for our Open Day in this year. On this glorious morning, I, XXX the founder of Brainy Montessori , I am going to give a talk on “What Does It Take To Be A Good Parent?”. In my speech, I am going to share with you some characteristics of a good parent. According to Oxford Dictionary, parent define as a person who is a father or mother or a person who has a child. Parent also define as to be or act as a mother or father to someone. Another definition of parent is an animal or plant that produces a young animal or plant and also define as something out of which another thing has developed. Good in other hand define in Oxford Dictionary as having the required qualities, of a high standard, possessing or displaying moral virtue, and also that which is morally right. Therefore for me, good parent is someone refer to father or mother who loves their children unconditionally, communicates openly with their children, is involved in their children lives as much as they can be, someone who is there for them when they need someone, some one who teaches good morals and values, someone who shows them right from wrong, strict but not too strict. Parenting is a lifelong journey. As parents, we have an important responsibility. Every parent wants to be a good parent and role model for our children. But to be a good parent is not easy. It is a journey of trial and error...

What Makes Good Parents

...The bond between parents and children is one of love and affection; yet we come across people who hate their parents and also people who feel that their parents have let them down. Why it this the case ? Are these people unnatural or are they justified ? Perhaps in some cases they are justified. Most men and women get married and have children but not all of them are worthy of being parents. Parenthood, like other responsibilities, needs devotion, dedication and a lot of preparation. Prospective parents must recognize their responsibilities and realize what parenthood involves. The first essential of good parenthood is the acceptance of the role. A man who marries when he is young may resent his first child for it would be a rival for the affection of the lady of the house. Similarly. a woman may resent her first child because it suddenly puts her in a different class of women. Couples who become parents can no longer call their time their own. Often the newcomer may necessitate changes in the household routine, giving up of a job on the part of the mother and various other sacrifices. The world of affection which should surround a child should precede its birth. It is here that good parenthood begins. Fondness, however, is at no stage a synonym of pampering and spoiling children. Parents have the responsibility of cultivating those qualities in their children which may help them to face life, make them brave and likeable human beings, impart to them a sense of integrity......

Good Parents

...Parenting is a lifelong journey. As parents, we have an important responsibility. Every parent wants to be a good parent and role model for our children. But effective parenting is not easy. It is a journey of trial and error, day-and-night learning and growing together with your child. While the task can be discouraging, parents are certainly not alone in raising your child. Beyond traditional sources of support, there are various resources that parents can tap on. What can we as parents do to create a positive home learning environment for our child? There is no need for expensive toys, special programmes, or pushing children to count, read and write ahead of the curve. Early childhood experts have shared with me that it all boils down to building a strong bond with your child. Even routine tasks such as the changing of diapers can become a developmental experience, for example: talk to your child while you are changing his diaper. Look into your child’s eyes while you sing or talk. Read or tell stories to your child in the language that you are most comfortable with. Play outdoors. Simple acts like these can develop parent-child relationships that are warm, loving and responsive. Apart from the home environment, This is why we need to give our children early childhood education exposure to help them develop natural interests. Montessori education is an educational approach developed by Italian physician and educator Maria Montessori and characterized by an emphasis...

What Are the Characteristics of a Good Parent

...What are the characteristics of a good parent? (Word Count 351) Parents play a major role in the life of a child. Although, the invention of so many toys and the influence of peers have greatly affected children’s behavior of modern time, parents with good traits can use these influences to mold the personality and behavior of a child for the good. I believe that ideal parents should be of good moral character, good listener and patience. Parents should have good moral character, because they are the role models of children. It has been known that children are the reflection of their parent’s trait. For instance, my parents do not smoke, gamble or drink. They express virtue in all their actions. They taught us how to respect to elders, and be sensitive to other people’s feelings all the time. They have been my idol all my life, because they were able to raised six children so well and none of us went astray. Furthermore, being a good listener is very important. When parents have time to listen to their children, the communication is open between parties. To illustrate, my brother failed his science subject in school. My parents did not judge or scold him, instead they talked to him and listened to his concerns. They found out that he did not understand his lesson well because of his assigned seat. He was sitting next to an air conditioner, and it bothered him. Having patience has a lot to do with parenting. Although children behavior gets out of hand sometimes......

Characteristics of Services Compared to Goods

...1. Introduction Services’ marketing is a sub field of marketing which covers the marketing of both goods and services. Goods marketing include the marketing of fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) and durables. Services marketing typically refer to the marketing of both business to consumer and business to business services. Common examples of service marketing are found in telecommunications, air travel, health care, financial services, all types of hospitality services, car rental services, and professional services. Services are economic activities, rather than tangible products, offered by one party to another. Rendering a service to recipients, objects, or other assets depends on a time-sensitive performance to bring about the desired result. In exchange for money, time, and effort, service customers expect value from access to goods, labor, professional skills, facilities, networks, and systems; but they do not normally take ownership of any of the physical elements involved. Services’ marketing is a form of marketing that focuses on selling services. They can be tricky to sell, and the marketing approach for them is much different than the approach for products. Some companies offer both products and services and must use a mixture of styles; for example, a store that sells computers also tends to also help people select computers and provide computer repair. Such a store must market both its products and the supporting services it offers to appeal to customers. 1.1......

The Characteristics of a Good University

...The Characteristics of a Good University Universities are places where students come to learn various courses from instructors. A good university must be able to support the learning process. It must have enough qualified instructors, many modern buildings with adequate high technology facilities, and the most of all good management. Being a place where students come to learn, it is important that universities have enough qualified instructors for every course. Being a qualified instructor for a course requires more than having knowledge in the course. It requires having adequate teaching skills. Without adequate teaching skills, knowledge will not be transferred to the students. It is also requires having proper personalities. An instructor without appropriate personalities will be unpopular and disliked. Definition of a Good Parent

...Definition of a Good Parent Raising a child is not an easy task; and, not every person that has a child is equipped with what it takes to be a good parent. Each person has their own opinion of the definition of good parenting; however, there are a few basic, fundamental suggestions that some may want to consider when faced with child rearing. First and most importantly, a good parent should show love and affection toward their child or children. Secondly, it is also essential that a parent be able to set good examples for their children. Lastly, in order to be an effective parent, a person must learn how to take a break for themselves once in a while. A good parent shows love, is a good role model, and takes cares of their wellbeing. Love and affection is the foundation of a healthy relationship between a parent and their child. This suggestion applies to all parents, it does not matter how old they are, what color they are, where they are from, or if they are male or female. Taking care of a child’s basic necessities and keeping the child safe from harm is, without a doubt, part of the love and affection equation. Love and affection provides a sense of security and worth in a developing child. Being a good role model is also crucial when nurturing a growing human being. A good parent should remember that their actions speak louder than their words. A parent should set high standards for themselves and treat other people the way they would like to be treated. Being......

Characteristics of a Good Leader

...Characteristics of a Good Leader Introduction Leaders have an important role within an organisation related to its success, productivity and the performance of the employees. The ‘fundamental task of a leader is to build and maintain a high performing team’ (Furnham, 2005, p.566). However, Yukl (2013, p.18) argues that there are numerous and diverse definitions concerning the concept of a leader as well as the term leadership, although a general consensus appears to suggest it involves a process of influencing and guiding relationships within an organisation . Guirdham (2002, p.15) emphasises the importance of leaders having good interpersonal and communication skills, which as Yukl suggest involves the ability to persuade others. Yukl (2013, p.18) further states there are additional factors that contribute to good leadership such as the situational context and the use of power. Another issue regarding the characteristics of leaders is that many theories and models have been based on Western perspectives (House and Aditya, 1997, p.409) and typically based on research with white males (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, CIPD, 2008, p.7). There is some cultural crossover in servant leadership, which according to Northouse (2013, p.219), was originally proposed by Greenleaf in the 1970s, and also has origins in ancient Eastern and Western philosophies; for example, it is deeply embedded in Arab-Islamic culture (Sarayrah, 2004, p.59). A further concern is......

However, you need just more than these two qualities to be a good manager. There are a number of factors that play into whether or not you would make a good manager. What Makes a Good Parent

...How is positive parenting different from negative parenting? Which do you think is more effective? Why? Positive parenting is different from negative parenting because positive parenting focuses on using positive words and the parent tells the child why they should follow the rules that have been set for them. Negative parenting is when the parent tries to control what the child does so they can do as told. I think positive parenting works better because the child won’t feel like the parent is telling them what or what not to do just to be mean or take their fun away. They will understand if they have a reason. Do you think children should have more rules or fewer rules in the home? Why? I feel like children should have fewer rules in the home because if you throw too many rules at them all at one time they will feel like they’re being controlled and they have no freedom then they will try to rebel against you to do what they want. How would you deal with a situation of biting? Do you think your approach would fit into a “positive parenting” framework? Why or why not? I think in a biting situation I would calmly tell my child that biting hurts and that it’s not okay. I would then tell them the consequences of biting someone and what they could do to someone's skin or someone could be sick. I think my method could work because I don’t think that the child wants to get sick from biting someone or tear of someone's skin. I think it fits into the positive parenting framework...

A Good Parent

...discipline him enough, does he know right from wrong? Many parents ask themselves questions like these daily. But how do you know if you are raising your child right? I mean there is no degree in parenting. You take what you know from growing up and decided I want to be like my parents, or I will never be like my parents. I guess there is no sketched out map to raise your child correctly, but there are key things every parent needs to remember. Being a good parent requires you to be their parent not their best friend, discipline and most importantly love and nurture. To many parents these days feel they need to be their child’s best friend, they worry too much about how their child views them. A parent should be a good role model, model the behavior they wish there kids to show. But being their best friend will only hinder your child in the long run. They need someone who will set boundaries, someone who will discipline and someone who they can turn to when they need advice. I think it is important to be involved with your child’s life, but a parent must remember their involvement needs to be limited to being a parent and not a friend. Your child should be able to turn to you when they need advice or they are in trouble, and as a parent you should always make yourself available to your child for such things. Your child can make many friends at school and other activities, but when they come home they need a parent at the end of the day. Discipline is a subject that......

Characteristics of a Good Manager

...Characteristics of a good manager There are many qualities and skills we can associate with being a good manager, many involve how you portray yourself to your workforce or how you interact with them. But how do we define who or what a good manager is, are there predetermined qualities that apply in all cases, or does It depend on the context in which the manager is working? One key area in the functioning and success of any business is teamwork, a business will not thrive if there are very evident divisions between hierarchical levels and also fractions between employees of the same level. A ‘good’ manager should be able to build up a relationship with his or her workforce and instil a sense of community and joint responsibility. If a manger can achieve this then everyone will be pulling in the same direction and striving towards the same set of goals, this should increase efficiency or raise output levels. [Tom Hopkins, 1996, http://www.selfgrowth.com/articles/Hopkins11.html] A manager may create a sense of teamwork by setting achievable goals and targets to work towards for his or her team. As a manager you will have an overall target of say £500,000 extra revenue this year. To achieve a target a manager must delegate responsibilities to each member of his or her workforce. For instance each salesperson may be set monthly sales targets, which if achieved will in turn help to achieve the companies overall goals for an operating period. For these individual......
